Four Simple Words - Outfit #71

(Top: Dorothy Perkins, Joni Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: Topshop, Necklace: Topshop, Ring: Shop Dixi)

I never ever go into Dorothy Perkins but I had to walk through it to get to a Topshop the other day so I thought I'd have a quick look at the stuff in the sale and found this top. I love the speckled effect on clothes, always have but especially when it's grey. I don't know whether I'd call this a peplum, seems a bit higher than usual but it was £8 in the sale and perfect for lazy/casual days. Looking at these photos now I'm not so sure it's very flattering but I still really like it.

My necklace and ring are both new and I absolutely love them. The necklace was ridiculously overpriced but I'm a sucker for a statement necklace. The ring is my first purchase from Shop Dixi and certainly won't be my last. It's so pretty and is already my new favourite.

A few outfits.

Seeing as I don't have time to take outfits photos much anymore I thought I'd show you a few I've been posting on Instagram. They're really bad quality but hopefully not for much longer because I'm finally getting an iPhone woo!

Dress, necklace and jacket: Topshop, Nails: Essie Bikini So Teeny
I bought this dress some time last year for a reasonable £26-£28. I like the pattern, style and how its kind of following the monochrome trend. I wear this leather jacket pretty much every day. It's a really flattering length and I love the fur. Dress, jacket and Vans seems to be all I wear at the moment,

Dress: Primark, Jacket: Topshop, Vans: vans.co.uk, Necklace: Topshop
This is a Primark dress and definitely a new favourite. The material is a little bit thick for summer but I love the striped/marl pattern. Skater style and quite flattering. Again with Vans and jacket..

Dress: Topshop, Necklace: Primark, Nails: Barry M Gelly in Watermelon
I bought this dress yesterday when I went shopping in Cambridge. I've always liked it but it was £38 so I didn't splurge on it. Seeing as I've worked my arse off this month, I thought I'd treat myself. They only had a few left so I got a size 10 but I ideally would have chose a 12 which they didn't have. It fits but it's quite restricting around the arms. I should really take it back but it's too pretty. I'm wearing my bargain rose gold Primark necklace and I think it's a nice little touch. I've also tried out the Barry M Gelly nail varnishes this weekend and the one photographed is Watermelon. I'll probably do a full review on soon.

Little Shopping Haul #10: Topshop & Boots

This is a mixture of stuff I bought online from Topshop and Boots and one thing from eBay. The beauty bits stuff pretty much everything from my last wishlist!

Firstly, this is a really unflattering photo of the dress! It's actually a really lovely shape and has a really flattering neckline. I don't have a classic 'little black dress' so I thought this for £20 was a good investment.

This is also a really unflattering photo! Sorry. These are just as good of a fit as the black Joni jeans and I really love them. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to keep them or not as I think they're kind of too girly for me? I don't know. What would you wear them with? I've never owned a pair of jeans this colour and I really like them on me but can't seem to find any tops and shoes to wear with them.

There's a lot of daisy jewellery in Topshop at the moment but I chose this necklace because it's not too 'in your face' but still a really cute, summery accessory  It's a little short for my liking and ridiculously over priced but y'know, it's pretty!

Rabbit Face Socks
Socks, with a baby bunny face on. Need I say more? So damn adorable yet when you put them on they look like distorted alien faces but I so couldn't leave them in the shop.

Another replica designer bag for me, my old one finally gave up so I picked up this beauty for around £15. Perfect size, simple, goes with everything and I think it's a really nice timeless style.

Since I can't wear nail varnish to work, I hate my natural nails so I though I'd start painting them with this so they look healthy and a bit more attractive. Haven't tried it yet but hopefully it improves my nails and gives them a bit more strength.

As soon as I heard about new shades of the Revlon lip butters being launched in the UK I went straight in Boots and chose the one I liked most. Online this colour looks darker and more of a reddy/dark pink but when I tried it, it's actually really neon pink and bright. I still really like it and can't fault the formula. My first and favourite lip product!

I've used Vaseline for years and swore by it but I've recently realised it just sits on my lips and doesn't sink in and do any good. I've heard lots of good things about Burt's Bees products so I thought I'd give this a try as I love mango. Unfortunately the scent and taste is very synthetic and plasticy but I still like how in sinks in fast and leaves my lips really moisturised.

Bought this on a whim because it was cheap and I needed a nice new body spray to carry round in my bag that I didn't have to worry about it running out. Unfortunately it smells like air freshener so I may have to look for something else.

Emma from milkteef.com spoke about this in one of her favourites videos and when she was raving about it, it hit all the right points for me. It's in a pump bottle so it's really easy to put on, it has a really strong cocoa smell and it sinks in well. It's a lovely product and for someone like me who's lazy with moisturising and with dry/problem skin it's perfect! I'll probably do a full review soon.

I don't even know where I heard about this new range of moisturisers but as I don't have that perfect one for my skin type, I thought I'd try one of these. I was first going to go with the one aimed for very dry skin but at the time my skin was being very oily so I went with this freshening one. Again, it's nothing special and I won't repurchase but I'm using it daily and it's doing a basic job! I might try the one for dry skin to see if it does my skin any favours, if not then I'm still on the hunt for the perfect facial moisturiser!

Very boring purchase. I'm anaemic and feel run down and tired all the time so I thought I'd try these to see if they make any difference.

I've been wanting to try these Gelly nail varnishes for so long now. I love the colour range and I really like that they're meant to be very shiny. I've only tried Watermelon (right) and if I'm honest I'm not amazed, I do like it and it's a beautiful colour but it's not as shiny as I expected. Saying that, the colour is lovely and unique and it looks very thick and professional in two coats. Can't wait to try Lychee with some glitters though!
